Bank robbed in northern Rio Rancho

A bank in northern Rio Rancho was robbed last Monday.

Rio Rancho Police spokesman John Francis said the New Mexico Bank and Trust at 7830 Enchanted Hills boulevard was robbed around 10 a.m.

Rio Rancho Police are assisting the FBI in finding the suspect.

Francis said the suspect walked into the bank and told a teller that it was a robbery. The suspect was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, a dust mask, sunglasses, gloves, blue sweatpants with a stripe down the side and white tennis shoes.

Francis said no weapon or note was shown. The robber left with an undisclosed amount of money and no one was hurt. Francis said the robber fled westbound on foot into the Albertsons parking lot.

Francis said the suspect is described as being 6-feet tall with a slender build. Francis said the suspect is either white or Hispanic.

Anyone with information is asked to call the local FBI office at 889-1300 or Rio Rancho Police at 891-7226.
