Joseph Hydock Jr.

Joseph William “Joe” Hydock Jr., 75, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Suzanne (Sherman) Hydock; daughter, Kathy S. Pratt of Borrego Springs, Calif.; sons, Joseph L. Hydock of Yuma, Ariz., David B. Hydock of Juneau, Alaska, Kenneth B. Hydock of Suffolk, Va., and Randall E. Hydock of Semmes, Ala.; son- and daughters-in-law; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; aunt, Verna Hansen; and step-mother, Billie Shermer-Hydock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph William Sr. and Laura Penrod (Huston) Hydock; and brother, Robert H. Hydock. Joe retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He also retired from the U.S. Forest Service after 19 years. During his 30 years of residence in Albuquerque, Joe was best known for his volunteer work with local senior centers and food pantries.

Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Interment of cremated remains took place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009.
