Woman arrested in connection to shooting of husband at home

Anadasha L. Mason, 49, of Rio Rancho, was arrested last Tuesday for attempted murder and tampering with evidence.

On Jan. 19, Mason allegedly shot her husband William K. Mason in the back of the head in the bedroom of their home on the 6200 block of Apache Plume Road in Rio Rancho.

Rio Rancho police have been investigating the incident since January.

When the incident happened, Mason told police that intruders shot her husband.

Rio Rancho police detective Michael Applegate concluded in his report that Anadasha Mason committed the crime. after reviewing the scene of the crime, collecting and processing physical evidence, statements by Anadasha Mason, two interviews with William Mason, interviews with Santa Ana Star Casino employees and reviewing seven police reports filed by Anadasha Mason.

Mason’s attorney is Arthur Hernandez. As of Thursday, she was still in the Sandoval County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
