Kenneth Bashline

Kenneth R. “Kenny” Bashline, 77, residing in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, died Tuesday evening, at his residence.

He was born June 2, 1931 in Armstrong County, Pa., to the late Margaret (Butler) and Ross C. Bashline. Ken was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. He was one of the twelve founding volunteers of the Rio Rancho Estates Fire Department where he served as mechanic and paramedic. He was a member of the VFW, Rio Rancho, N.M. Kiwanis’s Club, Foresters, and the Rock Hound Club all in Rio Rancho.


Survivors include his three daughters, Gwendolyn Bashline, Port Clinton, Ohio; Crystal Bashline, Elberon,Va.; Tina Bashline, Avon, Ohio; grandchildren, Jesse E. Breeden, Jason R. Breeden, Angile M. Twiss, Victoria L. Valenzuela, Johnny J. K. Chulik, Kristina Tolbert, Ashley Carson, James D. Bashline; two great grandchildren, Julieaunna R. Twiss and Jay Will Tolbert; sisters, Maxine Ferkan, Dayton, Pa., Stella Zemla, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Diane Powell, North Carolina.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother in infancy.

Visitation and services took place Friday, May 15, 2009, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Giffin Chapel, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio.

Additional visitation and services were held Saturday in Goheenville Presbyterian Church, Goheenville, Pa. Burial will be in Concord Church Cemetery, Dayton, Pa. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, Ohio, is handling arrangements.
