Dex, Waste Management, and the city’s Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful Division will be collecting outdated telephone books through March 13.
Residents are encouraged to bring old, unwanted telephone books to bins located at the Loma Colorado Main Library, 755 Loma Colorado Dr., and the Meadowlark Senior Center, 4300 Meadowlark Ln.

Adopt a rabbit
The House Rabbit Society is holding a Rescue Rabbit Adopt-A-Thon Jan. 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Petco, 3601 Old Airport Rd.
Affectionate, litter-trained, spayed or neutered rabbits in several breeds and sizes are available for an adoption fee of $99. These rabbits have been rescued through various shelters.

Dem women to meet
The Democratic Women of Sandoval County will meet Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m., in the Bernalillo Town Hall’s council chambers, 829 Camino del Pueblo. During the meeting, the Sandoval County Community Services Transportation and Health Services officers for 2009-10 will be elected.
