Brooklyn. “We brought up our kids in Long Island,” she said. “All five of our children were artists.”

Like many New Yorkers who moved here for the climate and/or family reasons, Ginnie Catalanotto said she likes what she’s seen in Rio Rancho, sometimes called “Little New York.”

“I like the progress that’s happening and I like the libraries. On Long Island, we paid $5,000 to $6,000 in taxes and we didn’t have a library in our own little community. … It’s been a wonderful move for us.”

She said her “famous” son has visited the City of Vision on several occasions.

Peter Catalanotto’s Holiday Tour Booklet will depict many of the White House decorations during the month, including two 13-foot tall statues of Uncle Sam welcoming visitors to the East Foyer, an antique sleigh carrying a patriotic Santa, plus toys and packages wrapped in red, white and blue; a gingerbread White House featuring miniature replicas of the Bush family pets along with cookies fashioned after the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.
