With several political races to be decided in November, potential voters will be left out in the cold if they don’t register to vote by Tuesday.

If you are unsure whether you are registered or not, call the Sandoval County Bureau of Elections at 867-7577 or visit their Web site at boe.sandovalcountynm.gov. From there, click on “find my precinct” from the menu on the left side of the page. This will also inform you on the races you will be voting on.

To register, stop by the Sandoval County Clerk’s office at the Sandoval County Courthouse, 711 Camino del Pueblo, in Bernalillo.

The Motor Vehicle Division also registers voters. And registration takes place anywhere in the county where a deputy registration officer accepts registrations.

Voters can also choose to vote by absentee ballot, starting Oct. 7. You can vote in the clerk’s office or mail your absentee ballot. Just follow the directions on the ballot.

To request an absentee ballot, call the county clerk’s office at 867-7572.

Early voting also begins Oct. 7. The polling location is at the Sandoval County Annex at 800 South Hill Road in Bernalillo. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Starting Oct. 18, early voters can go to either the Meadowlark Senior Center or Rio Rancho City Hall. Voting times are noon-8 p.m., Tuesday-Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
