Meth awareness campaign comes to Rio Rancho

Published on Monday, September 8, 2008 12:50 PM MDT

Methamphetamine is a powerfully addictive stimulant known on the street as '€śMeth, Crank, Ice and Go-Fast.'€ť

This illegal drug is causing crime to rise, homes to shatter, phenomenal domestic violence and child abuse, addicted parents jailed and people to die.

David Parnell, a former meth dealer, recovering addict, husband, father of seven and suicide survivor, now devotes his life travelling to high schools and communities warning about the dangers from using meth.

He brings his message to Rio Rancho today. At 6:30 p.m., he will speak at Rio West Community Church, 6751 Pasilla Road.

His message is captivating and his presentations are graphic. Some material may not be suitable for young children.

Admission is free, but love offerings are accepted.
