Miller-Mackie had 50 strikes in the six-game set for 1,488, made up of games of 259, 249 and 289 for a 797 series, then 248, 203 and 240 for a 691. It is one of the highest series ever by the Albuquerque pro.
Miller-Mackie is practicing daily in preparation for the Women's U.S. Open at Chicago later this month. "The set was definitely a confidence boost," she said.

In other bowling news out of Tenpins & More in Rio Rancho:
18-year-old Paul Carper became a repeat winner against adult bowler competition and was joined by his dad, Brad McKinsey, winner of the handicap section in Sunday's "Match-Up" tournament.
Carper included his first certified perfect game of 300 during the event in which he averaged 224 to beat Albuquerque's Carl Miller, followed by John Lund and Diego Lucero of Rio Rancho, who almost won the week before winning two high-scoring matches, 239-235 over Gary Hadley of Santa Fe and 236-201 over Ethan Biswell of Rio Rancho, before losing to top-seeded Biswell in the replayed championship match, 194-246.
As a result, Biswell, who averaged 221, gets a paid entry in next month's $32,000 New Mexico Open at Tenpins & More. The next of two final roll-offs will be held today at the center on Deborah Road.
