“Now that President Bush is in his last months, all the Bush hate-mongers will have no purpose in life. Wait. Now they have Mr. Obama as their shining star. But, wait again: Hasn’t he been caught lying, even during his visit to Las Cruces? And you’re still bowing at his feet? What disgusting hypocrites you are.”

“I have a comment about the way things are starting to look on Southern Boulevard. There’s a couple of auto-repair shops there that look like they’re actual wrecking yards. They’ve got cars just sitting everywhere; they look dumpy on Southern. There’s another one that looks like he’s running half-wrecking yard, half-car lot. It ahs all kinds of four-wheel drives for sale and looks really terrible. Both of those places probably need a visit from code enforcement and environmental health. I don’t know what kinds of oil and antifreeze are leaking into the ground there. I wish the city would address that.”

“Republican pundits keep saying the last troop surge to Iraq was successful. Successful at what? Trying to change someone else’s country into one like ours? It will never happen. Why do we have occupying bases in 32 countries? Close all these bases and concentrate our efforts on our country. If Republicans would have selected Ron Paul as the nominee n a real Republican n Obama would have had a real run for his money. You nominated an old war-monger who wants to expand our occupation of the world.”

“CableOne: High prices, reruns, commercials. For what you people are charging, there’s no excuse for it. Basically, you should not be allowed to do business in the city of Rio Rancho, but I guess that’s done with the blessing of the local politicians. But it’s just pitiful.”

“I’ve got some comments on the mayor’s transition team. It seems like some transition members he brought were from Bernalillo County. I have a problem with that. If you look at Bernalillo County, they have a school system that’s totally dysfunctional, a correctional system that’s totally broke, and one of the highest crime rates in the nation. So I’m not sure what could come from Bernalillo County and tell us what to do right, I think someone from Rio Rancho ought to be going into Bernalillo County and telling them what to do right. I think Mr. Swisstack goofed on that.”

“Since we’re discussing the zoology of Rio Rancho driving, let’s look at snails who consistently drive 20 mph below the speedlimit, never mind all those cars lined up behind them or the town’s growing gridlock problem. Let’s not forget turtles who cannot grasp the intricacies of turn lanes, slowing nearly to a full stop in the path of traffic fast approaching from the rear before, finally, blessedly, actually getting their car into the turn lane, although often not without getting the car behind them rear-ended. Finally, there are the dingbats, who take up both the turn lane and the regular traffic lane while waiting to turn.”

“They may be the best trauma unit, but that isn’t saying much.  I was transported there after a car accident. Waiting 14 hours for doctors who were “just too busy to come in,” I was then kicked out of my room at 3 a.m. Told to call my wife to come pick me up.  Don’t ever go there if you have a choice!”

“It is amazing to me how waste management runs their “Green” commercials about how environmentally responsible they are and then want to charge me $6 a month for a second recycling container. They are making money from reselling my recyclables and they have the nerve to want to charge me $6 a month to make more money on my recyclables. What a racket.”

“I would just like people in Rivers Edge One to be aware that a week ago we had our vehicles broken into.  They took mostly everything.  Please remember to lock your doors and roll up your windows.  Make sure that when people are walking by your houses, make sure you take a good look at them and that they know you see them.  My neighbor told me they saw a few kids walking around our house looking into the backyard and garage.  We were home.  Please don’t let these people take what you have worked hard for.  The same neighbor had their front light broken to pieces.  We have a house under foreclosure on our street and kids try to handout in the backyard.  Talk to your neighbors, watch out for each other.”

“I don’t understand this “City of Vision.”  You constantly read and hear from the Rio Rancho community how they want change and to move forward, yet they continue to vote for the same incompetent, self-serving and destructive people.  This is clearly evident from the support for Lisa Cour.  How can this comminity think that this candidate is a good choice for representing constituients.  Just look at her past track record as Rio Rancho School Board Member and President.  Every year more schools are added to the not making yearly progress list, with the State actually taking over some schools this coming year. Every year we constantly read that RRPS is in a financial crisis and cannot make ends meet.  Every year bus transportation to and from schools is a mess aqnd getting worse.  We constantly read that the RRPS Board wants parent input and feedback on policies and other school issues and then ignores it and goes with what the Superintendent wants.  And last but not least, Ms. Cour was responsible for bringing her cronie to the current Associate Superintendent position, even though he did not meet the qualifications.  I am sure she will be able to justify and explain away every one of these issues, however it remains that this is the kind of leadership you can expect from Cour.  I really hope when it comes to the general election this “City of Vision” supports candidates that are capable of effective leadership.”

“First and foremost I wanted to thank Chamisa Hills Country Club for having a teen dance on May 31st. It was great for the Teens to have something to do especially since there is nothing to do in Rio Rancho except Blades and that is the hot spot during winter. I was very disappointed to see that the police were called because of the music being to loud. OK yes Rap and Hip Hop has the same beat over and over again but, the kids were off the streets. They were in a parental controlled environment were they could not get into trouble, they were not party hopping or doing bad things like some teens like to do when they are bored. I don’t think once a month for 3 hours is to much to ask for the people that live around the club by the pool or tennis corts to sacrifice for our kids to have something to do. Come on people if you live near a country club they are going to have events that have music HELLO! The last thing I would like to say is thank you to the officer that came by he was very understanding and very nice. He said he wishes there were more things for the kids to do to keep them occupied he would rather hear the boom of the music than have to bust up parties where the kids are drinking. Yes they drink and then they drive so whats it gona be people!!!!!!!”

“The city should revoke the contract with WM immediately and find another contractor to do the waste pickup throughout Rio Rancho. We have had several problems with Recycle pickup. The “Green” waste either doesn’t get picked up when it is supposed to and we have to call WM to “ask” them revisit. Furthermore, on occasions, the recycle waste has not been picked up from our residence for an entire week after many reminders, then the next pickup date arrives and we are overflowing. When we asked WM for a partial refund for the missed recycle, WM said they don’t charge anything for Recycle and no refund was applicable. Sorry folks but for most of us, when we don’t do our job, we don’t get paid or worse are fired. I’d like to see the city force WM to break down the current total bill into Waste and Recycle, so when WM messes up in the future, each of us has the choice to challenge WMs performance and receive an appropriate refund; Or get rid of WM and bring in someone who can do the job.”

“I agree with your observation regarding Cable One. We experienced exceptionally poor service with them as well and NO reparation was made to us except a weak apology. We left them as soon as we could.

Unfortunately, this poorly ran entity sucks people into a contract, which I’d personally like to see the city challenge and allow all current subscribers the choice to void. The current only better option in our opinion is DirecTV, which has been better to us. Agreed and Unfortunatly after wanting Comcast, Cable One does have somewhat of an infrastructure barrier to entry into this industry versus Comcast, which the city should make every effort to remove. More choice/competition always creates better and more services to the constiuents.”

“While our Senators and Congresspersons, who have caused the high gas prices and high food costs by caving into environmental extremists, chastise BIG OIL for making a 6.9 to 8% net profit, they subsidize BIG FARM ethanol at the rate of $0.51 a gallon (that’s $6 to $9 billion of YOUR tax dollars) and ignore the net farm income increase of 56% in just two years. They also ignore the fact that the increased cost of food resulting from the surge in corn prices (and other grains because farmers are planting corn instead of wheat, rice, soybeans and etc.) is causing poor people to starve. Write your Senators and Congresspersons and tell them to stop supporting special interests like environmental extremists and vote for the American People. Don’t vote for candidates that espouse environmental extremism to the detriment of the American People. …..Drill Here, Drill Now, Build More Nuclear Plants!”
