The event marks the start of the national EMS week, recognizing the dedication of emergency medical services across the nation and their importance as first responders.
With a theme of “Extraordinary People, Extraordinary Service,” EMS week activities help celebrate the day-to-day operations and hard work of emergency physicians, emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, educators and administrators.

Rio Rancho Fire Department will have their Fire Safety Trailer on hand to teach children about fire prevention and escaping the home in the event of a fire. Several law enforcement agencies will also be present.
There will be several career and volunteer fire departments and ambulance services represented at the event. Jemez Pueblo Ambulance will be handing out free bicycle helmets to children, while supplies last.
