Registration is held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. before the sessions, which begin at 7 and take place in the RRHS gym.
The program runs through May 1.

USA Rugby’s
college club playoffs
Forty-eight of the nation’s best Division I and Division II men’s and women’s collegiate rugby teams will compete in the USA Rugby National Guard College Club Playoffs, April 18-20, at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque.
This event, presented in part by the New Mexico Sports Authority, Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Rio Grande Rugby Union, marks the first time USA Rugby has brought all 48 collegiate teams to one location for a National Championship Series (NCS) event. It also marks the first time USA Rugby has chosen Albuquerque to host a national event.
Matches will be held across eight fields and are set to take place from 1:30-6 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m.n6 p.m. on Saturday; and 8:30 a.m.n12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets are $10 per day, $25 for the weekend for adults, and $5 per day, $10 for the weekend for youth and military.
Ten Star All-Star

Applications are being accepted for the Ten Star All-Star summer basketball camps, being held in numerous locations throughout the U.S. (The nearest one to New Mexico is in Prescott, Ariz.)
Past participants have included Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Grant Hill and Antawn Jamison. Players from all 50 states and eight foreign countries attended camps in 2007.

Physicals take
new format at RRHS
All sports physicals for Mid-High and Rio Rancho High School athletes for the 2008-09 school year will be held May 3 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the high school.
Physicals cost $20 (cash or money order only). This will be the only sports physicals session for the school year.
Athletes whose last names begin with the letters A through K should report between 8 and noon; those with surnames beginning with L-Z should report between 1 and 4.
Physical packets may be obtained at the athletic departments at both schools or from private physicians.

Youth skills clinics
set for Isotopes Park
Two skills camps are planned for boys and girls ages 5-15 at Isotopes Park, where they’ll be able to learn pitching, fielding and hitting tips from Isotopes players and the coaches.
The registration fee for the clinics, to be held July 11 and Aug. 9 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day), is $50 per child (per session).
The fee includes instruction, an Isotopes cap, clinic certificate, post-clinic lunch, and two reserved level seat vouchers for a game.
Participants may register in person on the second floor at Isotopes Park (10-5, Mon-Fri) or by phone (222-4001).
Participants should bring their ball gloves, wear proper clothing the protective equipment, and proper footwear.

‘Patriot’ triathlon planned
The first Patriot Triathlon will be held Sept. 14 in Rio Rancho, starting and ending at the new Rio Rancho Aquatic Center on Loma Colorado Drive.
The event, which will be sanctioned by the USTA, is open to teams and individuals. It begins with a 400-yard swim (seeded by ability), followed by a 25k bike ride and a 5k run.
The entry fee is $45; the field will be limited to 400 participants.
Longtime Rio Rancho resident Andie Talmadge is organizing the event. She said information would be posted on www.fitfundamentals.com.
Additionally, she said, there will be a Jingle Bell Triathlon here on Dec. 7, using the same course as the Patriot.
The first Rio Rancho Marathon is being planned for Sept. 28. More information will be forthcoming on that event.
