Armed Robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, tampering with evidence, aggravated fleeing and eluding

George Gonzales, 24, resident at 4717 Platinum Drive, Rio Rancho, was indicted on April 3 on the charges of armed Robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, tampering with evidence and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

According to the indictment, on or about March 20, Gonzales, armed with a rifle, took $100 from another person.

Gonzales also by words or acts agreed together with another person(s) to commit armed robbery and they intended to commit armed robbery.

Gonzales also destroyed, changed, hid, fabricated or placed drugs with the intent to prevent the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of himself.

Gonzales also willfully and carelessly drove a vehicle in a manner that endangered the life of another person after being given a visual or audible signal to stop, whether by hand, voice, emergency light, flashing light, siren or other signal, by a uniformed law enforcement officer in an appropriately marked law enforcement vehicle in pursuit.

Armed Robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, tampering with evidence (capital crime or first or second degree felony), aggravated assault (deadly weapon)

Benjamin Catron, 21, resident at 1247 Mirador Loop, Rio Rancho, was indicted on April 3 on the charges of Armed Robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, tampering with evidence (capital crime or first or second degree felony) and aggravated assault (deadly weapon).

According to the indictment, on or about March 20, Catron, armed with a rifle, took $100 from another person.

Catron also by words or acts agreed together with another person(s) to commit armed robbery and they intended to commit armed robbery.

Catron also destroyed, changed, hid, fabricated or placed drugs with the intent to prevent the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of himself.

Catron assaulted or struck at the victim with a rifle.

Criminal Sexual Contact of a minor in the fourth degree

Benjamin Taylor, 44, resident of Thornfield, Mo., was indicted on April 3 on the charge of Criminal Sexual Contact of a minor in the fourth degree.

According to the indictment, on or about May 23, 2007, Taylor touched or applied force to the intimate parts of a minor by the use of force, coercion or credible threats of force or violence.

Taylor also unlawfully touched or applied force to the minor, who was a household member in a rude, insolent or angry manner.

False imprisonment, battery against a household member, interference with communications

Mario Chavira, 49, resident of the 300 block of Utah Street NE, Albuquerque, was indicted on April 8 on charges of false imprisonment, battery against a household member and interference with communications.

According to the indictment, on or about Sept. 15-16, 2007, Chavira restrained or confined a woman against her will and with the knowledge that he had no authority to do so.

Chavira also touched or applied force to the victim intending to injure that person or another and caused painful temporary disfigurement to her.

Chavira also knowingly and without lawful authority prevented, obstructed or delayed the sending, transmitting, conveying or delivering in this state of any message, communications, or report by or through telegraph or telephone.

Possession of a controlled substance (felony-narcotic drug)

Kathie Perea, 42, resident at 06 Loma Del Tanque, Santa Fe, was indicted on April 3 on the charge of Possession of a controlled substance (felony-narcotic drug).

According to the indictment, on or about Oct. 3, 2007, Perea intentionally had in her possession, Cocaine, a narcotic drug which is a Schedule I or II controlled substance, or phencyclidine or an analog of phencyclidine, or methamphetamine, its salts, isomers, salts of isomers or an analog of such, knowing or believing it to be Cocaine, or believing it to be some drug or other substance the possession of which regulated or prohibited by law.

Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute

Richard J. Maes, 22, resident of the 1200 block of Calle Placitas, Bernalillo, was indicted on April 3 on the charges of Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the indictment, on or about March 21, Maes knowingly and intentionally transferred or caused the transfer or attempt to transfer to another, Crack, a narcotic drug, or methamphetamine, knowing or believing it to be, Crack, or believing it to be some drug or other substance the possession of which is regulated or prohibited by law.

Maes also possessed a Digital Scale with the intent to use the drug paraphernalia to plant, propagate, cultivate, grow, harvest, manufacture, compound, convert, produce, process, prepare, test, analyze, pack, repack, ingest, inhale or otherwise introduce into the human body, a controlled substance.Criminal sexual penetration in the second degree, false imprisonment, battery against a household member

Cornell Pacheco, 18, resident of Bernalillo, was indicted on April 10 on the charges of criminal sexual penetration in the second degree, false imprisonment and battery against a household member.

According to the indictment, on or about March 26, Pacheco caused a minor, who was a household member, to engage in sexual intercourse, by the use of force or coercion.

Pacheco restrained or confined the victim against her will and he unlawfully touched or applied force to her.

Child Abuse (six counts)

Roxanne Salazar, 25, resident of the 500 block of Angel Road, Corrales, was indicted on April 10 on six counts of child abuse.

According to the indictment, on or about Jan. 4 and again on Jan. 25, Salazar knowingly, intentionally, or negligently and without justification, permit three minors to be placed in a situation that may endanger their life or health and Salazar knew or should have known of the danger involved and acted with reckless disregard for the childrens’ safety or health.

Residential burglary, larceny (over $500), contributing to the delinquency of a minor (two charges)

Matthew J. Martinez, 22, resident of 217 Hondo Road, Rio Rancho, was indicted on April 10 on charges of residential burglary, larceny (over $500) and two charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to the indictment, on or about Jan. 25, Martinez entered a person’s house without authorization or permission, with intent to commit residential burglary or theft when he got inside.

Martinez took miscellaneous household items having a market value exceeding $500.

Martinez also committed and act or did omit the performance of a duty, which act or omission caused or tended to cause or encourage the delinquency of two minors.

Forgery (issue-transfer), attempt to commit a felony, to wit: Fraud (over $500)

Leroy Sanchez, 28, resident at 307 Calle de Blas, Corrales, was indicted on April 10 on charges of Forgery (issue-transfer) and attempt to commit a felony, to wit: Fraud (over $500).

According to the indictment, on or about March 7, Sanchez did, with intent to injure, deceive or cheat Home Depot, or another, gave or delivered to Home Depot, a check, knowing it to be a forged writing, containing false portions or changed so that its effect was different from the original or genuine.

Sanchez also did attempt to commit a felony, to wit: fraud (over $500), in that he intended to commit a felony, to wit: fraud (over $500), and began to do an act which constituted a substantial part of felony, to wit: fraud (over $500), but failed to commit the offense.

Residential burglary, possession of burglary tools

Brandon Acosta, 31, resident at 1128 Maxine Street NE, Albuquerque, was indicted on April 10 on charges of residential burglary and possession of burglary tools.

According to the indictment, on or about Feb. 13, Acosta entered a home without authorization or permission, with intent to commit residential burglary, or theft when he got inside.

Acosta also had in his possession, two screwdrivers, a small set of bolt cutters and a large set of bolt cutters, which are instruments, or objects designed for or commonly used in the commission of burglary, and the defendant intended to use the tools to commit a burglary.

Aggravated battery upon a peace officer, aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer, possessing stolen property, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs (impaired).

Benjamin Serrano, 21, resident at 10616 Chilili Drive NW, Albuquerque, was indicted on April 10 on charges of aggravated battery upon a peace officer, aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer, possessing stolen property, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs (impaired).

According to the indictment, on or about Sept. 23, 2007, Serrano touched or applied force to a Rio Rancho police officer, while the officer was in the lawful performance of his duties and Serrano caused the officer painful temporary disfigurement.

Serrano also willfully and carelessly drove a vehicle in a manner that endangered the life of another person after being given a visual or audible signal to stop by a Rio Rancho police officer.

Serrano also kept a blue Honda Accord, which had been stolen, knowing or believing that it had been stolen, and the property had a market value exceeding $2,500. Serrano also had intent to procure title or pass title to the vehicle, and at the time he knew or had reason to know that the vehicle had been stolen.

Serrano also possessed numerous screw drivers, which is an instrument or object designed for or commonly used in the commission of burglary and Serrano intended to use the screwdrivers to commit a burglary.

Serrano also operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs.

Aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officers, receiving stolen property, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools (two charges)

John Michael Melger, 31, resident at 711 Stagecoach Road, Rio Rancho, was indicted on April 10 on charges of Aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officers, receiving stolen property, receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle, and two charges of possession of burglary tools.

According to the indictment, on or about April 1, Melger willfully and carelessly drove a vehicle in a manner that endangered the life of another person after being given a visual or audible signal to stop by a Rio Rancho police officer.

Melger also kept a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a box containing stolen automotive parts, which had been stolen, knowing or believing that it had been stolen and the property had market value exceeding $2,500.

Melger also received possession of the truck, which had been stolen, or transferred possession of the truck, which had been stolen to another, with intent to procure title or pass title to the vehicle, and at the time he knew or had reason to know that the truck had been stolen.

Melger possessed several screw drivers, which is an instrument or object designed for or commonly used in the commission of burglary and Melger intended to use the screwdrivers.

Melger also possessed several filed vehicle keys known as “blanks”, which are instruments or objects designed for or commonly used in the commission of burglary, and the defendant intended to use the keys to commit a burglary, a fourth degree felony.

    " On August 28Th 2008 at approx 9 ;15 am i was at Smith"s doing some grocery shopping. After going to the bank and getting my rent money out. Well getting out of my car i dropped my wallet and i want to thank whoever turned it in to the smiths Mgr BUT i hope the 350.00 you STOLE out of it {which was my rent money} you spend it wisely... and i hope you never lose your money cause you will know then the hurt you caused my family.. enjoy it while it last "
