The new agreement updates the 2003 JPA for the regional 911 dispatch center, which now includes the Town of Bernalillo and Santa Ana Pueblo, along with original members Rio Rancho, Sandoval County and Corrales.
The decision has no impact on the city’s budget or the police’s budget.

In 2005, the state cut its grant funding to the Town of Bernalillo, which then provided dispatch services for Santa Ana Pueblo and required that Bernalillo join the regional dispatch system.
Consequently, Bernalillo and Santa Ana executed interim agreements with the city to join the SCRECC, and the parties began negotiating and drafting an amended JPA that includes all members.
The JPA was completed last summer and all of the other jurisdictions have signed it.
Next, the state’s department of Finance and Administration must approve the JPA.
The SCRECC is housed with Rio Rancho’s Department of Public Safety on Quantum Road. All of SCRECC’s staff are city employees, but funding comes from contributions from all of the member jurisdictions.
