Ortega named UMN Provost

University of New Mexico President David J. Schmidly today announced the selection of University of Washington vice provost and graduate Dean Suzanne Trager Ortega as UNM’s provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, culminating a six-month nationwide search.

Pulte Homes works

with SSCAFCA

The Montoyas Arroyo Sportsplex Dam was dedicated on March 21 at the front entrance of the Pulte Homes’ Loma Colorado community on High Resort Boulevard in Rio Rancho. Pulte Homes and the Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority worked together to with the City of Rio Rancho for the enhancement and beautification of the flood control dam. In addition, Pulte Homes will be able to discharge storm water into the dam, eliminating the construction of detention ponds in the community.

“We understand the importance this planning has on the greater community beyond Loma Colorado,” said Garret Price, Pulte Homes’ New Mexico division vice president of land. “This was a great opportunity for us to create a visually appealing dam and do something that has a benefit for many years to come.”

Pulty contributed nearly $1 million to this public and private partnership. Loma Colorado is a 433-acre master-planned community that features about 980 homes.

Santa Ana Star promotion

Santa Ana Star Casino has promoted Regina Cordova to promotions manager. With nine years of experience in the gaming business, Cordova will be responsible for facilitating VIP events both in-house and off-site, the acquisition of promotional materials, and promotional inventory that supports Santa Ana Star Casino’s promotions and special events.

“I have more decision-making opportunities. I am looking forward to the growth potential my new position offers, and the experience I will gain because of this promotion,” said Cordova.

Rio Rancho company lia Sophia recently honored two sales associates for its Excellent Beginnings Program Achievers.

Carmen Reinhart and Jason Reinhart of Rio Rancho were honored in their first 15 weeks after entering the fashion jewelry business.
