As Rio Rancho grows, so must its businesses.

A local couple invested almost $500,000 expanding its business to meet the growing demand.

Dr. Craig Clatanoff and Dr. Jennifer Planzits, owners and optometrists of Rio Eyecare, are proud to serve their clients with the best technology the industry has to offer.

To celebrate the renovations, Rio Eyecare, in conjunction with the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, had a ribbon cutting on Friday at the business’s 4100 Crestview location.

“We are thankful to be in the community,” Clatanoff said. “The community has been very supportive of our practice. We have been here 11 years and we continue to grow and want to provide top quality care for our patients.”

Clatanoff and Planitz began their practice in 1996 and moved to the current location at five years ago. The remodeling has expanded the office to 4,900 square feet. This includes four new exam rooms, a specialized testing room and a larger display area for glasses and sun wear.

Rio Eyecare also specializes in early detection and treatment of medical conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Emergency care for eye injury or eye infections also is provided.

A wide range of contact lenses are offered to include specialty fits such as SyergEyes, Keratoconus and Corneal Refractive Therapy.
