HONOLULU - Section C.

There was no other section that could have possibly fulfilled the childhood dream that I have had like Section C.

As I climbed the six stories to my nosebleed seat at the Aloha Stadium to watch the Pro Bowl, I was the happiest person in the world.

As many children do, I had dreams of what I wanted to do in my life. One of those dreams was to see the Pro Bowl live. I remember when I was a kid, watching the game with my parents and always loving the way there were two teams but they all had different helmets on. It was exciting to watch the players - who at one time were enemies - play together in a relaxed environment.

Finally my wish had came true this year and I found myself in the crowd yelling and clapping as the game started.

And only in Section C could the impossible happen. Four men stood up, clapped, and chanted "We're gonna start the wave! We're gonna start the wave! In four, three, two, one...!"

For a while it only made it through our section of the stadium, but these guys weren't going to give up so easily. A few more times chanting and then it happened - the wave through all four sides of the stadium from the front row to the fans, like myself, who needed binoculars to see the game, throwing their hands up into the air and doing the wave not one, but three times through.

Section C.

The game was relaxed and the air was warm as the players huddled together and I finally realized why there are commercials. Each time a team scored a touchdown, the noisy explosion of fireworks would go off. As the game progresses and scores were made it was even hard to hear them through all of the cheering.

The team mascots that had gone to the game offered a sidebar of entertainment. At one point they all put down beach towels by the end zone and laid down as if to get a tan at the beach. And of course some were fighting and jumping on one another playfully as if to amuse themselves.

My attention moved from all that was going around me from the mascots to the cheerleaders with shiny pompoms - especially to the cheerleader wearing the red knee high boots. I was able to see it all from the top: Section C.

Halftime came and went as what seemed like hundreds of girls dancing around the field while someone sang on a stage that included a volcano with fire blasting from the top. The players once again took the field to give a few more good plays.

It was obvious that the game wasn't physical compared to games during the season. The whole game was like practice, but in one play the defense actually hit the guy. The quarterback threw the ball, the receiver jumped up to catch it and while he was still in mid-air, floating for his picture-perfect catch, the defense man hit him, sending him flying down to earth landing straight on his back. "OOHHH!" was all I heard the audience mutter as the instant replay was flashed on the screen.

It was the one good contact play that reminded me why I, and so many others, love football.

At the end of the game anticipation grew, as the two teams were tied with about two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. But effortlessly, or seemingly predetermined (which is my theory), the AFC got the ball down to their end within field goal range and won by three.

The score didn't matter. Neither did the fact that Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher wasn't there because of his "injury," no offense to any fans.

It didn't even matter that I was sitting in the shade for the entire game, had goose bumps the whole time, and didn't get my tan. The only thing that mattered was that I was there. I saw the best of the best representing their teams. I saw all of the different helmets playing together on one field.

My childhood dream was fulfilled - all in Section C.
