Giving soldiers a 'shield of honor'

The Patriot Guard Riders earned local recognition in September when they shielded the family of a fallen soldier in Rio Rancho from protesters who gathered nearby. The group, comprised of veterans from various eras, held flags to block the view from the funeral to what was happening outside.
